BOOK CLUB DISCOUNTS
LitLife loves book clubs! Book Clubs who register with LitLife, and order five or more copies of a single title, will qualify for a 15% discount off the book’s cover price. We do require pre-payment for all the copies to qualify for our quantity discount. Interested? Call us at 616.458.8418 for more information.
CONSIGNMENT ITEMS
LitLife is pleased to consider your book or literary-related gift items for consignment. We receive many such requests every day, and now have a store consignment policy in place. Some consignment considerations include:
1) books must have a spine displaying the title and name of the author (no spiral-bound books, please);
2) books are not purchased outright by the bookstore, but are accepted contingent on sale;
3) LitLife agrees to display books on a consignment basis for 3-6 months. As books sell, we may request additional copies from consignor. If books do not sell within 3-6 months, we will contact the author to pick up their books;
4) we will pay only for items sold. Damaged or stolen items are the sole financial responsibility of the consignor.
Jennifer, LitLife’s Senior Bookseller, is in charge of our consignment program. For more information, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by email.
DONATION REQUESTS
Many individuals and organizations contact the bookstore with requests for donations. Though we’d love to be in a position to help every worthy project with a donation, it just isn’t possible for our little bookstore to do so. We suggest careful review of the items we carry and our literary mission before considering a donation request from LitLife. If you feel you’d like a donation from us, please contact us at 616.458.8418 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). We have a donation request form that must be filled out in full, and upon review of this form, we will determine if we are in a position to donate to your cause.
EVENTS
Would you like to schedule an event here at LitLife? We’re always interested in considering literary-related events here at the bookstore. GIFT CARDS
So, do you have a gift card for Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or even Schuler’s? RETURNS
LitLife is happy to provide a refund for purchased new items, as long as they are returned in their original, new condition, with a valid receipt, within 7 days. DVDs, gifts, and audio books must be returned in an unopened package within 7 days, with receipt, to be eligible for return. Sorry, but consignment items, used or ‘gently read’ merchandise, globes, and artwork cannot be returned.
RRR PROGRAM
We think recycling books makes great environmental sense, and we love the opportunity to put both new and used books into our customers’ hands. Here’s how the R3 program works:
1. You buy a new trade paperback at LitLife at the full retail price. This qualifies you for the program. There is no additional charge to participate.
2. After you’ve enjoyed the book, bring it back to LitLife.
3. If the book is still in near-new condition, we’ll accept the book and credit your account with 20% of the book’s retail price. (For example, if the purchased book was $14.00 initially, your account will receive a credit for $2.80 upon its return).
4. You can use the credit toward the purchase of any new trade paperback.
NOTE: Some rules do apply to this program. For now, we are limiting the R3 program to trade paperback books, as these hold up to wear during reading and are also able to be resold as used upon return. You can recycle up to three books per week. All R3 credits expire at 6-month intervals if not used (every June 30 and December 31).
USED CONSIGNMENT PROGRAM
We’re always looking for ‘like new’ trade paperback books for the store inventory. If you have books you would like to exchange for credit at LitLife, the Used Consignment Program might be a good fit. Essentially, you can bring in as many trade paperback books as you’d like. If they meet our inventory needs, we’ll enter them into our system on consignment. When the books are sold, you’ll receive a credit worth 30% of the book’s original retail price. These credits never expire. Consignment credits are calculated every quarter; you’ll receive a notice of your credits if any are due in the month following the end of the quarter. Questions?
