Opening Day
Well, October 2nd has come and gone, and we at LitLife are celebrating the end of our first week in business. We had a truly memorable Opening Day. Thanks to an Uptown Ad in On-the-Town Magazine, some pre-opening buzz on Urban Planet, and an announcement on 88.1FM WYCE, we had a decent stream of traffic after we opened our doors at 10am. The feedback from customers on the building renovation was exceedingly positive (quite reassuring after three long years of work), and the response to our initial inventory selection was better than expected.
Our afternoon and evening traffic was bolstered by the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wealthy Street to celebrate completion of the summer-long construction project. Following the ceremony, Mayor Heartwell and others traveled down Wealthy Street to visit LitLife and other businesses on the street. We were lucky enough to also be visited by the Fox News Team, and had a quick interview with photos of the store featured on the evening news!
The response to LitLife has been great, and we are excited (and proud!) to be part of the Wealthy Street revitalization. We are also indebted to our neighbors along Wealthy Street—the other small business owners have been amazingly supportive and have encouraged their customers to visit our store during their travels along the street. In particular, we are grateful that we can count the boys at Wealthy at Charles and the women at Kitchen Design Studio among our friends on the block.
Please feel free to leave your comments, questions, and criticisms for our review. LitLife is YOUR neighborhood independent bookstore!
