Harry Potter’s Friends!
“Good Movies Based on Great Books” is a special little section here at LitLife. We’ve got the book and the movie, right next to each other. I appreciate when a movie respects the book which inspired it.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is out in paperback now AND HP and the Half-Blood Prince is in theaters now. It’s a great time to be a Harry Potter fan!
I always prefer to read a book before I see the movie it is based on. We’ve got Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in both hard cover and paperback here.
Some friends of Harry came by the bookstore, on their way to see the film (and of course to support the release of the paperback).

Maryann Lesert’s “Base Ten”
We had such a great time listening to local author Maryann Lesert read from her book Base Ten last month! She had us all giggling and thoughtful, by turns. Also, Roni asked Making Thyme Kitchen to put on a delicious spread for us. It was wonderful to munch on fresh fruit and spreads while listening to Maryann read and talk about her writing. We’ve had a couple of book clubs use Base Ten for their book of the month and it’s been universally enjoyed! I know I enjoyed it! The heroine, Jillian, has a very real, honest voice. I look forward to Maryann’s next book!
